TO ALL WHOM IT MAY OONCERN:
Be it .known that I, THOMAS S. MITCHELL, of the city of Pittsburg, county of Allegheny, and State of' Pennsylvania, have originated and designed a new Ornament for Cook-Stoves, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings making part of this speci` fication.
The drawings show a perspective view ofthe whole stove.
In the general form thereof there is nothing new; it is an ordinary wood-burning cook-stove, having an oven, apron, ash-pan, and four holes on top for cooking purposes.
The doors are ornamentcd with a design in raised work, representing a shield, containing in its body thirteen stripes, and on the cld or upper portion thereof are three stars. This shield is marked A on the drawing,and occupies the centre of cach door. Around the edge of cach door runs a moulding, shown on the drawing, and for thehetter understanding of which a sectional drawing is given, marke-'l B.
I do not claim the general plan of the stove, for that is old.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure hy Letters Patent of the United States, is-
The design of the shield, marked A, and of the moulding', marked B, as shown on the drawing, circumscrihed by the red lines a, b, c, and d, forming the ornamentation ci' the door of a. cook-stove, substantially as shown and described in the drawings and specification.
