TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Be it known that I, JOHN THORNILEY, of Fallston, in the county of Beaver, in the State of Pennsylvania, have invented a, new and useful Improvement to Cooking-Stoves, .by gaining a larger surface for cooking-utensils; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, in which Figure 1 is'a perspective view,

The nature of my improvement consists in making a cast or sheet-iron extension top and flue-chamber, as follows:

The extension top A forms the top of flue-chamber B, which chamber is fitted with two wing-gates C O, to regulate the draught. Also hole D of any shape, to fit on the pipe-hole of any cooking-stove, as seen at fig, 1. Also the extension top A, to be made with a pot or skillet-hole, E, and an elbow-pipe hole, F, to carry the smoke to the chimney, as seen at fig. 1, or the flue-chamber B, to be open at the end, and set in the chimney, as seen at fig. 2. v

What I claim as my improvement, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

As an article of manufacture, a cast or sheet-iron drum-box, so made as to form an extension of the top of a cook-stove, and provided with shelves at the sides, a boiler-hole on the top, and adjustable wing-gates in the flue-chamber, and connecting a cook-stove flue with a chimney, substantially in the manner and for the purpose described.
