UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ADOLPH LEDERER, OF PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND.
DESIGN FOR A PICTURE-FRAME.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 24,403, dated June 18, 1895.
Application filed May 11, 1895. Serial No. 548,994. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whont it may concern:
Be it known that I, ADOLPH LEDERER, of the city of Providence, in the county of Providence and State of Rhode Island, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Picture-Frame, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof.
The leading feature of my new design for picture-frames consists in the lower scalloped edge curving upward and suddenly contracting at the sides, then gradually increasing the width at one side in a succession of short curves and atthe other in an easy curving line turned inward at the top to meet a projection having the semblance to a bow of ribbon, then curving upward laterally to meet the succession of short curves forming the opposite edge, together with surface ornamentation which accentuates the outlines.
In the drawing the lower portion of the frame is formed by a succession of short curves irregularly arranged between the points 5-6 and expanding the width of the frame between these points. From 5 the edge extends gradually outward in scallops to 7, thence curves downward to 8 to meet the ribbon ornament 9, thence slightly outward to 10 and downward toll in a curving line contracting the width of the frame at this point.
The inner line is formed by the curved line 11 connecting at the upper end with the scat loped line 12 and at the lower end with the ribbon ornament 13. This ribbon ornament is connected with the point (3 by the hand 14, while this band in turn is connected with the ornament 9 by the band 15,together with the surface ornamentation included within the outlines.
\Vhat I claim is The design for a picture-frame as herein shown and described.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand.
ADOLPH LEDERER.
