DESIGN FOR A BOTTLE OR VASE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,898, da ed June 30, 1891.
Application filed March 18, 1891. Serial No. 385,560. Term of patent 3%; years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Janus 13. LYON, a resident of Pittsburg, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and original Design for Glassware; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description thereof.
My design consists in a glass bottle, vase, or like article having a bulbous or convex base or stand and a body portion rising from the top of a stand on a gradual upward flare and having its upper end rounded in toward the neck portion of the bottle, vase, or other article, the base and body miter cuts being formed therein.
The accompanying drawing illustrates my design by a side view thereof.
In said drawing, a is the bottle, vase, or other article, a bottle being illustrated in the drawing. The base a of the bottle or other article is bulbous or convexin shape, extending, as shown in the drawing, from a base of width first on an outward curve and then on a regular inward curve to the baseof thebody portion (1, the base or stand 1' being thus formed bulbous or convex, as above stated. The body portion rises from the top of said bulbous stand, extending up on a gradual flare from the base o thereof to about the point f thereon, from which the upper end of the body portion is curved or rounded inwardly to connect with the neck portion 1) above referred to.
