SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,188, dated October 7, 1890. Application filed August 27, 1890. Serial No.363,224. Term of patent 14 years.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, THOMAS MCDONGUGH, of Montclair, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and Im- 5 proved Design for Hoes, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

The leading feature of my design consists in the configuration of the blade, which hasa bell-like contour in its sides.

10 Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part of this specification, in which the figure represents in perspective the improved hoe.

Aindicates the blade, and B the tang thereof.

15 The contour of the bladeAis that of abelllike figure, the defining-lines of which at the sides diverge outwardly toward the bottom, as at an, joining the bottom straight definingline a at an acute angle, as shown. The upper edge of the blade is curved inwardly to- 20 ward the tang B, as at o o, the said inward curves atthe top being of the same radius as the outer curves a a at the bottom.
