JULlUS S. MEYER, OF NEW YORK, N. Y., ASSIGNOR TO THE HARTFORD CARPET COMPANY, OF HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT.
DESIGN FOR A CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,382, dated October 31, 1882.
Application filed August 11, 1882. Term' of patent 35 years.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JULIUS S. MEYER, of New York, in the State of New York, have invented a. new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a new and original design for carpets and similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel grouping and configuration of figures hereinalter inorefnlly described.
The accompanying photograph illustrates a face view ofa carpet having my new design.
The ground It consists of a blank field partially filled with various disconnected circular and righ t-lined geometrical form all minutely and symmetrically figured. Overlying this ground are various looselyclustered flower and leaf groups.
A is a group consisting of a rose and two star'shaped flowers on a leaf-mass,with agroup of small flowers below, and one to the right and one above, and a blossom-spray above and to the left.
B is a smaller cluster of leaves, star-shaped flowers, and buds, and is to the-right of and below the group A.
C consists of a central mass of long leaves with a cluster of star-shaped flowers above it, and with bunches and sprays of smaller starshiped flowers and blossoms projecting on all s1 es.
D is a scattered cluster of larger and smaller star shaped flowers and leaves in various groups, as shown.
E is a smaller group, and consists of two large star-shaped flowers on a mass of leaves with a blossom spray on the left.
I claim- 1. The design for carpets, consisting of the ground a, substantially as shown.
2. The design for carpets, consisting of the group A, substantially as shown.
3. The design for carpets, consisting of the group B, substantially as shown.
4. The design for carpets, consisting of the group C, substantially as shown.
5. The design for carpets, consisting of the group I), substantially as shown.
6. The design for carpets, consisting of the group E, substantially as shown.
7. The design for carpets, consisting of the groups A, B, C, D, and E, substantially as shown.
8. The design for carpets, consisting of the groups A, B, C, D, and E, and the ground a, substantially as shown and described.
