To all whom 'it may concern:

Be it known that LOTTO HE1NIGKE,of New Utrecht, in the State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a speciiication.

This invention relates to a new and original design for carpets and similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel grouping and configuration of tignrcs hereinafter more fully described.

The accompanying photograph illustrates a face. view ot' a carpet having my new design.

The background is tilled in with short irregularly-curved tcndril-likeiigures arranged in small sets. Over this ground are scattered at irregular intervals closely-massed bunches of small star-shaped flowers, each in a setting of small leaves, and connected with each other hy small curving branches that hear, irregularly1 scattered along their length, similar small leaves, in clusters of twos and threes, and at irregular intervals over the design clusters of flag-like leaves occur, as shown in the accompanying photograph.
