ARTHUR L. HALLIDAY, OF YONKERS, NEW YORK, ASSIGNOR TO THE BIGELOVV CARPET COMPANY, OF CLINTON, MASSACHUSETTS.
DESIGN FOR A CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,252, dated August 22, 1882.
Application filed July 28, 1882. Term of patent (it years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ARTHUR L. HALLIDAY, of Yonkers, in the county of Westchester and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a new and original design for carpets and similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel grouping and configuration of parts hereinafter more fully described.
The accompanying photograph illustrates a face view of a carpet having my new design.
A is a band ornamented along its top with a series of vertical lines, below which runs a series of fine dots, and below these extends a row ofhanging figures somewhat resembling the pendulum of an ordinary clock.
Below the band Aextends the band B, containing ornamentation composed of leaf-like figures somewhat in the shape of a capital X a. full-blown rose with its accompanying leaves and sprays apparently hanging over into the stripe E.
The stripe E has an ornamentation resemblingrowsofmany-pointed stars runningacross it, each star being separated from the next one by a small rectangle, around which are outlined the rays of another star.
The band F contains an ornamentation of vertical lines having a series of dots and circles above it.
I claim-- 1. The design fora carpet, consisting of band A, substantially as shown.
2. Thedesiguforacarpet,consistiugofstripe B, containing figure a, substantially as shown.
3. Thedesignforacarpet,consistingofstripe D, containing figures (I and e, substantially as shown.
4. Thedesign fora carpet, consisting ofstripc E, substantially as shown.
5. The design for a carpet, consisting of band I), stripe D, containing figures d and, e, and stripe E, substantially as shown.
6. Ihedesign for a carpet, consisting of band A, stripe B, containing figures a, band b, stripe D, containing figures e and d, stripe E, and stripe F.
