Album Cover.
No. 12,258. Patented May I0, I88!- Invent? r UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CHARLES \VAGENFOHR, OF NEW YORK, N. Y., ASSIGNOR TO THOMAS KELLY, O1 SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR ALBUM-COVER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,258, dated May 10, 1881.
Application filed March 18, 1881. Term of patent 35 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES WAeENFoHR, of New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented a. new and original Design for Album-Covers, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a new and original design for album-covers and similar articles; and it consists in the novel grouping and configuration of figures hereinafter more fullydescribed.
The accompanyiu g photograph illustrates a face-view of an album-cover having my new design.
At the four corners of the design are the four figures B, similar to each other, and one in each corner, and each composed of a torch'like figure projecting between two diverging triangular figures.
The figureA represents the background of the design, which is plain.
The figure O is a bunch of flowers supported on long stems, which also bear leaves and buds belonging thereto. These flowers are circular in form, one of them being represented by the figure a, while the figure (1 represents the buds, and the figure 1) represents the leaves, which are shaped somewhat like a maple-leaf. The
several stems bearing the flowers and leaves above referred to are bound loosely together by an ornamental band, E. A scroll-like band, D, crosses the bouquet 0 about midway between its top and bottom, the bouquet seeming to pass behind the band D, and appearing above and below it.
The whole effect is that of a plain background, having the four similar ornamental figures in the corners and in the center, the bunch of loosely-tied stems bearing flowers, buds, and leaves, and crossed by theornamental band.
I claim-- 1. The design for album-covers, consisting of the figure B, substantially as shown.
2. The design for album-covers, consisting of the figure O, substantially as shown.
3. The design for album eovers, consisting of the figuresO and E, substantiallyas shown.
4. Thedesign for album-covers, consisting of the figures O E D, substantially as shown.
5. The'design for album-covers,consistingof the figuresA B (J D E,substantially as shown.
