IMPROVEMENT IN BED-SOFAS.

Specification forming part of'Letters Patent No. 127,171, dated May 28, 1872.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, FnEDRrc KRATER, of Pittsburg, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvementin BedSof-a;77 and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawing and to the letters of reference marked thereon.

The nature of my invention consists in the arrangement of the seat with relation to the back ofthe sofa, whereby the back can belowered down and the seat unfolded so as to form abed, the whole constructed and arranged as hereinafter described.

To enable others skilled in the art to make and use my improvement in bed-sofa, I will proceed to describe more fully its construction and operation.

In the accompanying` drawing, which forms* t'. To the back edge of the seat B is hinged the sofahack C, and to it is hinged feet j. The back C is held in position with relation to the endsA and seatB through the medium ofpoints or pins 7c and hooks l, pivoted on the ends A.

When the several parts are in the position shown in Fig. l they form a sofa With a detachable face-board, m, held in its place by the facepieces n on the front of the ends A. When it is desirable to change the sofa into a bed, the tace-board m is removed and the several parts are then thrown into the position indicated by the dotted lines in Fig. l7 and as shown in Fig. 2.

What I claim is- The arrangement of the ends A, bottom B, consisting of leaves e f g, back G provided with feet j, and the detachable face-board m, the whole constructed and arranged as hereinbefore described.-
