UNITED STATES PATEN SAMUEL L. BLIGH, OF PIT HOLE CITY, PENNSYLVANIA.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 120,234, dated October 24, 1871.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, SAMUEL I1. BLIGH, of Pit Hole City, in the county of Venan go and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and valuable Improvement in Desk or Table Attachment for Chairs; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawing making a part of this specification, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon.
Figure 1 of the drawing is a perspective view of my invention. Fig. 2 is a rear view of the same.
This invention consists in the construction and arrangement of a novel adjustable desk or table attachment for chairs, which may be applied to any ordinary chair, and used for the purposes of writing, reading, 850.
Referring to the accompanying drawing illustrating this invention, A represents a chair; B i
leaf, placed across the arms b in front of the chair. It is pivoted to one of said arms, so that it may be turned around, as desired. I) D are intended to represent adjustable'clasps for securing the bar 0 to the back of the chair, as shown in the drawing.
The joints of the described attachment are pivoted so that the height and incline of the deskleaf may be varied to suit the occupant of the chair; also, to allow the apparatus to be folded up behind the chair.
I claim as my invention.
The improved adjustable desk or table attachment for chairs, having the legs B, pivoted arms b, pivoted leaf 0, and adjustable clasps or fastenings D, as described.
