La presente invención se refiere a un proceso para el tratamiento de una gasolina que contiene compuestos que contienen azufre, olefinas y diolefinas, que comprende los siguientes pasos: a) fraccionar la gasolina en por lo menos: - un corte de gasolina ligero LCN; - un corte de gasolina intermedio primario, MCN; y - un corte de gasolina pesado primario HHCN; b) desulfurar el corte de gasolina intermedio primario MCN solo en una manera tal que produzca un corte de gasolina intermedio primario por lo menos parcialmente desulfurada MCN; c) desulfurar el corte de gasolina pesado primario HHCN solo en una manera tal que produzca un corte de gasolina pesado primario por lo menos parcialmente desulfurada HHCN; d) enviar, como una mezcla, el corte de gasolina intermedio primario parcialmente desulfurada MCN y el corte de gasolina pesado primario parcialmente desulfurada HHCN hacia una columna de separación con el propósito de separar una corriente gaseosa que contiene hidrógeno y H2S, un corte de gasolina intermedio secundario MCN con bajos contenidos de azufre y mercaptanos y un corte de gasolina pesado secundario HHCN que contiene compuestos que contienen azufre que incluyen mercaptanos recombinantes; e) desulfurar el corte de gasolina pesado secundario HHCN obtenido del paso d).
