Abstract
Description
Claims (11)
- 휘도 정보를 포함하는 전류를 전달하기 위한 다수의 데이터선;상기 각 데이터선과 수직으로 교차하도록 배치되며, 한 행의 화소에 대해 제1주사선과 제2주사선이 할당되어 있는 다수의 주사선;상기 다수의 데이터선과 다수의 주사선의 각 교차점에 매트릭스 형태로 형성되며, 상기 제1주사선에 의해 선택될 경우에는 상기 데이터선을 통해 전달된 전류를 분배하고, 상기 제2주사선에 의해 선택될 경우에는 상기 데이터선을 통해 공급되는 전류에 따라 표시 동작을 수행하는 화소;클럭신호와 제어신호에 따라 연속하는 적어도 두 행 이상의 화소를 동시에 선택하기 위한 신호와, 해당 화소에 표시 정보를 기록하기 위한 신호를 각각 생성하여 해당 행의 제1주사선과 제2주사선에 각각 인가하는 스캔 드라이버; 및,휘도 정보에 따른 전류 레벨을 갖는 전류를 생성하여 상기 데이터선에 인가하는 데이터 구동부를 포함하는 화상 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 제1주사선은 데이터선의 전류를 분배하기 위해 해당 화소를 선택하기 위한 주사선이고, 상기 제2주사선은 데이터선을 통해 전달된 전류를 해당 화소 내에 기록하는 것을 제어하기 위한 주사선인 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 스캔 드라이버는 임의의 연속하는 적어도 두 행 이상의 화소를 선택하기 위한 파형을 갖는 신호를 상기 제1주사선에 인가하고, 상기 선택된 두 행 이상의 화소에 순차적으로 표시 정보를 기록할 수 있는 파형을 갖는 신호를 상기 제2주사선에 인가하는 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
- 제3항에 있어서,상기 제1주사선에 인가되는 신호는 임의의 연속하는 두 행 이상의 화소를 선택할 수 있는 선택시간을 가지며, 상기 제2주사선에 인가되는 신호는 상기 선택된 두 행 이상의 화소에 순차적으로 표시 정보를 기록할 수 있는 기록시간을 가지는 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서,상기 제1주사선에 인가되는 신호의 선택시간은 상기 제2주사선에 인가되는 신호의 기록시간보다 적어도 두배 이상인 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
- 제3항에 있어서,상기 임의의 연속하는 적어도 두 행 이상의 화소는 표시 정보를 기록할 행의 화소와 그 이전 행의 화소 또는 그 다음 행의 화소인 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 다수의 화소 각각은,데이터선을 통해 공급되는 전류를 분배하기 위한 전류 경로를 형성하는 제1트랜지스터;상기 제1주사선에 의해 선택되며, 상기 데이터선과 상기 제1트랜지스터 사이에서 전류 공급을 제어하는 제2트랜지스터;상기 제1트랜지스터에 흐르는 전류를 전압으로 변환하는 유지 커패시터;상기 제2주사선에 의해 선택되며, 상기 제1트랜지스터와 상기 유지 커패시터에서 스위칭 기능을 수행하는 제3트랜지스터;상기 제1트랜지스터와 함께 전류 미러를 형성하며, 상기 유지 커패시터에서 나타나는 전압량에 대응하는 전류를 발생시키는 제4트랜지스터; 및,상기 제4트랜지스터에서 공급되는 전류의 크기에 따라 발광하여 표시 동작을 수행하는 발광 소자를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
- 제7항에 있어서,상기 발광 소자는 유기 발광 다이오드인 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
- 제7항에 있어서,상기 제1 내지 제4트랜지스터는 전계효과 트랜지스터인 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
- 게이트 전극과 드레인 전극이 서로 연결되어 있으며, 소스 전극에는 전원 전압이 인가되는 제1트랜지스터;하나의 주사선이 게이트 전극에 연결되고, 드레인 전극에는 데이터선이 연결되며, 소스 전극은 상기 제1트랜지스터의 드레인 전극에 연결되어 있는 제2트랜지스터;두 개의 단자를 가지며, 그 하나의 단자에 전원 전압이 인가되는 유지 커패시터;또다른 주사선이 게이트 전극에 연결되고, 드레인 전극이 상기 제1트랜지스터의 게이트 전극에 연결되며, 소스 전극이 상기 유지 커패시터의 또다른 단자에 연결되어 있는 제3트랜지스터;게이트 전극이 상기 유지 커패시터와 제3트랜지스터의 접점에 연결되고, 소스 전극에는 전원 전압이 인가되는 제4트랜지스터; 및,캐소드 전극과 어노드 전극을 가지며, 캐소드 전극에는 소정의 캐소드 전압이 인가되고, 어노드 전극은 상기 제4트랜지스터의 드레인 전극에 연결되는 유기 발광 다이오드를 포함하는 화소 구조를 갖는 화상 표시 장치.
- 제10항에 있어서,상기 제1주사선과 제2주사선을 통해 인가되는 신호에 의해 상기 화소 구조는 네가지 동작 상태를 가지며, 상기 네가지 동작 상태는 상기 제2트랜지스터와 제3트랜지스터가 모두 온(ON)되는 경우, 상기 제2트랜지스터는 온(ON)되고 상기 제3트랜지스터는 오프(OFF)되는 경우, 상기 제2 및 제3트랜지스터가 모두 오프(OFF)되는 경우, 상기 제2트랜지스터는 오프(OFF)되고 상기 제3트랜지스터는 온(ON)되는 경우인 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
