Claims (5)
- 영상 신호를 표시하기 위한 복수 개의 화소를 포함하는 표시 수단, 상기 복수 개의 화소에 연결된 복수의 제1전극선, 상기 제1전극선과 교차하고 상기 복수 개의 화소에 연결된 복수의 제2전극선, 상기 제1전극선 및 상기 제2전극선중 적어도 하나에 표시 신호를 인가하기 위한 표시 신호 인가 수단, 및 상기 표시 신호의 인가 시간을 제어하기 위한 제어 수단을 포함하는 표시 시스템의 계조 조정 방법에 있어서, 소정 시간 주기 내에 포함된 복수개의 부시간 주기(副時間週期)중 하나에 상응하는 시간동안 원하는 화소를 온(ON) 상태로 유지시키기 위한 제어 신호를, 상기 제어 수단에 의해서 상기 표시 신호 인가 수단에 인가하고, 및 상기 제어 신호에 응답하여 상기 표시 신호 인가 수단에 의해서 상기 제1전극선에 표시 신호를 인가하며, 상기 복수개의 부시간 주기는 이진값으로 표시된 영상 신호의 이진 가중치에 비례하는 각각 상이한 시간적 길이를 갖고, 상기 표시 신호는 이미 온(ON) 상태에 있는 화소에 중복하여 인가되지 않고, 서로 인접한 화소에 대하여 동일한 부시간 주기에 상응하는 표시 신호가 순차적으로 인가되지 않으며, 동일 시점에 서로 인접한 화소에 대하여 상이한 부시간 주기에 상응하는 표시 신호가 인가됨으로써, 상기 화소가 표시되지 않는 있는 시간을 감소시켜 상기 화소들의 발광 효율을 향상시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 표시 시스템의 계조 조정 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 소정 시간 주기는 어드레싱에 필요한 최소시간 주기인 M×N(M; 제1전극선의 수, N; 계조 조정의 비트수)과 같거나 큰 수로서, N비트 이진값을 표시하기 위한 최소한의 주기의 수인 2N-1과의 최소공배수의 배수개인 균일한 단위 시간 주기를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 표시 시스템의 계조 조정 방법.
- 영상 신호를 표시하기 위한 복수 개의 화소를 포함하는 표시 수단, 상기 복수 개의 화소에 연결된 복수의 제1전극선, 상기 제1전극선과 교차하고 상기 복수 개의 화소에 연결된 복수의 제2전극선을 포함하는 표시시스템에 있어서, 상기 제1전극선 및 상기 제2전극선중 적어도 하나에 표시 신호를 인가하기 위한 표시 신호 인가 수단, 및 상기 표시 신호의 인가 시간을 제어하기 위한 제어 수단을 포함하고, 상기 제어 수단은 소정 시간 주기 내에 포함된 복수개의 부시간 주기(副時間週期)중 하나에 상응하는 시간동안 원하는 화소를 온(ON) 상태로 유지시키기 위한 제어 신호를 상기 표시 신호 인가 수단에 인가하며, 상기 표시 신호 인가 수단은 상기 제어 신호에 응답하여 상기 제1전극선에 표시 신호를 인가하고, 상기 복수개의 부시간 주기는 이진값으로 표시된 영상 신호의 이진 가중치에 비례하는 각각 상이한 시간적 길이를 갖고, 상기 표시 신호는 이미 온(ON)상태에 있는 화소에 중복하여 인가되지 않고, 서로 인접한 화소에 대하여 동일한 부시간 주기에 상응하는 표시 신호가 순차적으로 인가되지 않으며, 동일 시점에 서로 인접한 화소에 대하여 상이한 부시간 주기에 상응하는 표시 신호가 인가됨으로써, 상기 화소가 표시되지 않는 있는 시간을 감소시켜 상기 화소들의 발광 효율을 향상시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 표시 시스템.
- 제3항에 있어서, 상기 소정 시간 주기는 어드레싱에 필요한 최소시간 주기인 M×N(M; 제1전극선의 수, N; 계조 조정의 비트수)과 같거나 큰 수로서, N비트 이진값을 표시하기 위한 최소한의 주기의 수인 2N-1과의 최소공배수의 배수개인 균일한 단위 시간 주기를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 표시 시스템.
- 제3항 또는 제4항에 있어서, 상기 제어 수단은 상기 제1전극선의 수와 상기 계조 조정의 비트 수가 정해진 경우의 상기 제어 신호의 인가 순서를 저장하기 위한 저장 수단을 더 포함하고, 상기 제어 수단의 제어 신호는 상기 저장 수단에 저장된 인가 순서에 따라 인가되는 것을 특징으로 하는 표시 시스템.
