Claims (2)
- M개의 수직 전극라인과 N개의 수평 전극라인이 형성된 교류 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널(이하, AC PDP라 함)에 1 프레임 동안 X 비트의 디지털 화상 데이터(최하위 B1 ∼ 최상위 BX)를 공급하여 2X 계조(gray scale)의 화상을 디스플레이시키는 방법에 있어서,상기 N개의 수평 전극라인을 2X-1: 2X-2: …: 21: 20 비율의 X개 블록으로 분할하는 제 1 단계와, X번째 블록의 첫 번째 수평 전극라인으로부터 X-1번째 블록의 마지막 수평 전극라인까지 N개의 수평 전극라인으로 이루어진 서브프레임(subframe)이 X개 구성되는 제 2 단계와, 을 1 주기로 설정하고, 1주기동안 각 서브프레임의 첫 번째 수평전극라인부터 순차적으로 스캐닝되는 제 3 단계와, 기 설정된 디지털 화상데이터의 비트값(M)이 상기 M개의 수직 전극라인에 공급되어, 상기 제 3 단계에서 스캐닝된 수평 전극의 발광시간이 조정됨에 따라 상기 AC PDP 상에 2X 계조의 화상이 디스플레이시되는 제 4 단계를 포함하여 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 AC PDP의 구동방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 제 1 서브프레임에 포함되는 수평 전극라인이 스캐닝되는 경우 각 수평 전극라인에 대응되는 M개 디지털 화상 데이터의 최하위 비트값 B1 을 공급하고, 상기 제 2 서브프레임의 경우 최상위 비트값 BX 를, 상기 제 3, 제 4, …, 제 X-1, 제 X 서브프레임의 경우 비트값 BX-1, BX-2, …, B3, B2 를 각각 공급하는 것을 특징으로 하는 AC PDP의 구동방법.
