Description
Claims (8)
- 複数の画素を含む表示領域と前記表示領域に画像を表示するためのICドライバとを備えたTFT基板と、前記TFT基板に対向して配置された対向基板と、前記TFT基板と前記対向基板とに挟持された液晶層とを備えた液晶表示装置において、
前記画素は、ソース及びドレイン電極と、走査線に接続されたゲート電極とを備えたTFTと、コモン電極と画素電極とを備えた画素部とを含み、
前記コモン電極は、前記画素電極、前記ソース及びドレイン電極上に形成された無機パッシベーション膜上に設けられた櫛歯状の電極であり、
前記画素電極は、前記ソース及びドレイン電極のいずれかと接続され、前記無機パッシベーション膜と前記TFT基板との間に設けられ、かつ隣接する画素のTFTのゲート電極に接続された走査線と重なり部を有し、
前記走査線は、前記画素電極との重なり部において平面形状が凹凸形状を有し、
前記凹凸形状の凹部は、前記コモン電極の櫛歯状の電極に重なるように形成され、前記凹凸形状の凸部は、前記コモン電極の櫛歯状の電極間に設けられる開口部に重なるように形成されていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1記載の液晶表示装置において、
前記走査線の前記凸部は、前記コモン電極の櫛歯状の電極の根本部分において前記液晶層の液晶配列が乱れて光が漏れるドメイン部まで延伸して設けられていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1又は2記載の液晶表示装置において、
前記対向基板は遮光膜を有しており、前記走査線の前記凹部は、前記遮光膜と重畳していないことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項3記載の液晶表示装置において、
前記走査線の前記凸部は、前記遮光膜と重畳していないことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1乃至4の何れかに記載の液晶表示装置において、
前記画素電極は、前記ソース及びドレイン電極のいずれかと前記TFT基板との間に形成されていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1乃至4の何れかに記載の液晶表示装置において、
前記画素電極は、前記ソース及びドレイン電極のいずれかと前記無機パッシベーション膜との間に形成されていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1乃至6の何れかに記載の液晶表示装置において、
前記走査線の前記凸部は、前記コモン電極の櫛歯状の電極の根本部分において、前記コモン電極と重畳していることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1記載の液晶表示装置において、
前記凹凸形状の凹部及び凸部と、前記コモン電極及び前記コモン電極の根本部とが互いに対応していることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
