Abstract
【解決手段】 複数の画素を含む液晶表示装置において、画素はソース及びドレイン電極105とゲート電極101とを備えたTFTと、コモン電極108と画素電極106(120)とを備えた画素部とを含み、コモン電極108は、画素電極106(120)、ソース及びドレイン電極105上に形成された無機パッシベーション膜107上に設けられ、ゲート電極101は隣接する画素の画素電極120と重なって保持容量を構成する。

Claims (6)
- 複数の画素を含む表示領域と前記表示領域に画像を表示するためのICドライバとを備えたTFT基板と、前記TFT基板に対向して配置された対向基板と、前記TFT基板と前記対向基板とに挟持された液晶層とを備えた液晶表示装置において、
前記画素はソース及びドレイン電極とゲート電極とを備えたTFTと、コモン電極と画素電極とを備えた画素部とを含み、
前記コモン電極は、前記画素電極、前記ソース及びドレイン電極上に形成された無機パッシベーション膜上に設けられ、
前記画素電極は、前記ソース及びドレイン電極のいずれかと直接接続され、かつ隣接する画素のTFTのゲート電極と上下方向に重なり部を有し、保持容量を構成していることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1記載の液晶表示装置において、
前記コモン電極は櫛歯状であり、
前記ゲート電極は、櫛歯状の前記コモン電極の前記櫛歯の根本部分において前記液晶層の液晶配列が乱れて光が漏れるドメイン部まで延伸して設けられていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項2記載の液晶表示装置において、
前記ゲート電極は、前記画素電極との重なり部において平面形状が凹凸形状を有し、前記凹凸形状の凸部が前記ドメイン部の位置に対応することを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1記載の液晶表示装置において、
前記画素電極は、前記ソース及びドレイン電極のいずれかの下部に形成されていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1記載の液晶表示装置において、
前記画素電極は、前記ソース及びドレイン電極のいずれかの上部に形成されていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項2記載の液晶表示装置において、
前記対向基板は、前記ドメイン部に対向する部分が透光性を有することを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
