Description
図1に本実施例の排ガス浄化用触媒の模式的な断面図を示す。この排ガス浄化用触媒は、コージェライト製のハニカム基材1(長さ 130mm)と、ハニカム基材1の上流側端面から65mmの範囲に形成された上流側コート層2と、ハニカム基材1の下流側端面から65mmの範囲に形成された下流側コート層3と、からなる。上流側コート層2及び下流側コート層3には、それぞれPt及びRhが異なる担持密度で担持されている。以下、この排ガス浄化用触媒の製造方法を説明し、構成の詳細な説明に代える。
実施例1と同様のCeO2−ZrO2固溶体粉末を用い、Pt又はRhをそれぞれ担持して担持量が異なること以外は実施例1と同様の触媒粉末を調製した。そして実施例1と同様のハニカム基材に同様にコート層を形成し、表1に示すようにPtとRhの担持量及び担持分布が異なる触媒をそれぞれ調製した。いずれも触媒全体では、Ptが 1.5g/L、Rhが 0.4g/Lそれぞれ担持されていることになる。
実施例1と同様のCeO2−ZrO2固溶体粉末を用い、Pt又はRhをそれぞれ担持して担持量が異なること以外は実施例1と同様の触媒粉末を調製した。そして実施例1と同様のハニカム基材に同様にコート層を形成し、表1に示すように、Ptが全体に均一に 1.5g/L担持され、Rhが全体に均一に 0.4g/L担持された触媒を調製した。
実施例1と同様のCeO2−ZrO2固溶体粉末を用い、Pt又はRhをそれぞれ担持して担持量が異なること以外は実施例1と同様の触媒粉末を調製した。そして実施例1と同様のハニカム基材の上流側端面から30mmの範囲に上流側コート層2を形成し、残りの 100mmの範囲に下流側コート層を形成したこと以外は実施例1と同様にしてコート層を形成し、表2に示すようにPtとRhの担持量及び担持分布が異なる触媒をそれぞれ調製した。いずれも触媒全体では、Ptが 1.5g/L、Rhが 0.4g/Lそれぞれ担持されていることになる。
Claims (6)
- ストレートフロー構造の担体基材と、該担体基材表面に形成されたコート層と、からなり、該コート層は多孔質酸化物担体と該多孔質酸化物担体に担持された少なくともPtとRhを含む貴金属とよりなる排ガス浄化用触媒において、
該コート層の排ガス上流側には該担体基材の1リットルあたりの担持量が1.3g以上の量でPtを担持し、
Ptの担持量は触媒全体で3g/L以下であり、
該コート層の排ガス下流側には該担体基材の1リットルあたりの担持量が0.42g以上の量でRhを担持し、
Rhの担持量は触媒全体で0.5g/L以下であり、
該コート層におけるRhの担持密度は排ガス上流側より排ガス下流側が高いことを特徴とする排ガス浄化用触媒。 - 排ガス下流側におけるRhの担持量に対する排ガス上流側におけるRhの担持量の比が 0.9以下である請求項1に記載の排ガス浄化用触媒。
- 排ガス下流側におけるRhの担持量に対する排ガス上流側におけるRhの担持量の比が 0.5以下である請求項2に記載の排ガス浄化用触媒。
- 前記コート層におけるPtの担持密度は、排ガス下流側より排ガス上流側が高い請求項1に記載の排ガス浄化用触媒。
- 排ガス下流側におけるPtの担持量に対する排ガス上流側におけるPtの担持量の比が 0.8以上である請求項4に記載の排ガス浄化用触媒。
- 排ガス下流側におけるPtの担持量に対する排ガス上流側におけるPtの担持量の比が 1.4以上である請求項5に記載の排ガス浄化用触媒。
