Claims (5)
- 上下に配置される少なくとも2つのデータ層を有する光記録媒体からの読出し及び/又は該光記録媒体への書込みに用いられ、該光記録媒体のデータ層からの読出し及び/又は該光記録媒体のデータ層への書込みのための入力ビームにより該光記録媒体に発生する収差を補正する装置を有し、
入力ビームと前記データ層から戻るビームとは、前記収差を補正する装置を通過する時、相互に実質的に垂直な偏光方向を有し、
前記収差を補正するための前記装置は、前記戻りビームが影響されることなくそれを通過するよう設定されており、
前記戻りビームは、少なくとも1つの検出器上へ結像され、
前記戻りビームにより発生する前記収差を補償するための補正手段が更なるビームパスに提供され、
前記補正手段は、前記戻りビームを2つ以上の部分ビームに分割する手段であり、個々の該部分ビームが、1つの前記検出器上に向けられ、
個々の前記検出器は1つのデータ層に割り当てられていることを特徴とする装置。 - 前記収差を補正するための装置は、前記収差のバランスを取るために1つの偏光方向にのみ波面を影響させる液晶素子から成り、4分の1波長板が、前記収差を補正するため、前記装置の下流であって入力ビームの方向に配置されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記補正手段は、前記戻りビームにより通過される一つ以上のビームスプリッタであり、それぞれの該検出器は、前記光記録媒体から前記検出器までの光パスの長さが、各データ層に対して収差のない結像がそれぞれのデータ層に割り当てられたそれぞれの検出器上で得られるように、データ層のそれぞれについて最適化されるように構成されることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の装置。
- 前記補正手段は、前記戻りビームにより通過される回折レンズであり、それぞれの該検出器は、前記光記録媒体から前記検出器までの前記光パスの長さが、各データ層に対して収差のない結像がそれぞれのデータ層に割り当てられたそれぞれの検出器上で得られるように、データ層のそれぞれについて最適化されるように構成されることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の装置。
- 前記データ信号は、前記検出器の信号の和により得られ、焦点誤り信号及び/又はトラック誤り信号は、前記それぞれのデータ層について最適化された前記検出器の信号により得られ、前記光記録媒体から前記検出器までの光パスの長さがそれぞれのデータ層について最適化されていることを特徴とする請求項3又は4に記載の装置。
