Abstract
Description
さまざまな材料をフィルムとして調製し、高周波数超音波画像形成用の走査ウインドウとして使用するための適切性を見極めるべく調査した。各々の材料標本を、機械加工されたDelrinキャップ内に固定し、高周波数超音波ハンドピースの走査ヘッドに付着させた。超音波トランスデューサの焦点距離のところに平板標的を置いた状態で、超音波画像形成システムをセットアップした。システムは、50〜70MHzの中心周波数で作動した。標本を同じ条件下で画像形成し、表面反射率、残響及び超音波信号の減衰について評価した。以下の表は、材料と条件を列挙している。
走査ウインドウ重合体標本候補について、超音波信号損失及び飛行時間特性を測定した。これらの数量を、水専用経路を用いて2方向平板インパルス応答に関して測定した。
上述の高周波数超音波画像形成システムで使用するために、超音波インタフェースデバイスを製造した。デバイスは、走査ヘッドの遠位端部に付着させるように設計された機械加工されたナイロン66のキャップで形成された。デバイスの遠位端部は、画像形成ヒドロゲルのための矩形ウインドウ開口部であり、開口部の寸法は4mm×9mmであった。デバイスの遠位セグメントは、内部表面上の輪郭を用いることにより気体の機械的取り込みを提供するように設計された。
実施例1で詳述されているような高い含水量で低い重合体濃度のヒドロゲルは、数多くの状況での貯蔵、輸送及び使用に対する構造的無欠性を有していない可能性がある。耐久性のために必要とされる安定性を提供するため、さまざまなヒドロゲル走査ウインドウ標本が、構造的補強を伴って作り出された。一辺が約1.5インチである正方形の一連のルームを製造した。ルームのフレームは、辺に沿って0.1インチ毎に穴を有していた。目の粗いメッシュを作り出すために、交叉パターンで直径0.005インチのアクリルモノフィラメントを走らせた。実施例3にある通りに、4%及び5%の濃度のポリウレタンヒドロゲルを調製し、ルーム内にキャスト成形し、24時間硬化させた。代替的設計として、約250ミクロンの孔径をもつ内径0.5インチの多孔質ポリエチレン管材料の一断面をフレーム部材として使用し、モノフィラメントを一方の端部を横断して刺してメッシュを作り上げた。管の端部内に、メッシュをカバーする深さまで、4%のポリウレタンヒドロゲルをキャスト成形した。
