Abstract

903,362. Vented spouts. AMERICAN FLANGE & MANUFACTURING CO. Inc. July 22, 1959 [July 29, 1958], No. 25173/59. Class 21. A vented spout is formed by fitting therein partition blank 19 so as to isolate one portion of the passage through the spout for venting purposes, the blank being fixed in position by elements 20, extending between the partition blank and the spout. As shown the blank has longitudinal edge portions 21 bent to mate with the curvature of the spout 3; a duct-like portion 24 at its lower end with upturned sides 25, the sides being notched at 26 to receive the lower edge 29 of the spout; and tabs 20 at its upper end that pass through slits in the wall of the spout and are then bent over to secure the blank in position. The spout 3 is slidable within a screw threaded neck 7 secured to a container 1. Specification 869,671 is referred to.
