670,650. Pouring outlets for bottles or containers. LEVER BROS. & UNILEVER, Ltd. March 6, 1950 [March 17, 1949], No. 7289/49. Classes 66 and 125(iii) A closure for a bottle or like container has a pouring outlet 5, and a compensating air passage 4 extending from the inner to the outer end 2, the outer face being inclined to the axis of the closure, and the pouring channel substantially coinciding with the perimeter of the closure at the tip 6. The closure may have a screw-threaded skirt depending from its lower face so that it may be screwed on the end of a container. The pouring channel may be wider at the outer end ; the shape may reduce dripping after pouring. The outer ends of the channel and the air passage may be sealed until opened by downward pressure.
