857,100. Gas burners. SOC. BOURGUIGNONNE DE MECANIQUE. March 13, 1958 [May 7, 1957], No. 8155/58. Class 75(1). [Also in Group XII] Air and gas from a mixing chamber 1 pass through a perforated refractory plate 2 and burn within a wire gauze mat 4 held against the plate 2 by thin metal blades 5 perpendicular to the plate 2. The blades 5 concentrate the radiation in a direction normal to the plate 2. The products of combustion pass to a flue outlet 8 through passages 7 formed between the outer wall of the mixing chamber 1 and the outer casing 6 of the heater, thus preheating the fuel and air mixture.
