Class 86 [Also in Group XXI] A fire-fighting foam generator comprises a pump 1, a pressure reducing valve 4 in the suction conduit 2 leading from the water supply 3 to the pump and a controllable valve 9 in the pressure conduit 5 leading from the pump to the nozzle 12, a branch pipe 6 taken from the pressure conduit 5 at a point upstream of the valve 9 and connected to the suction conduit 2 at a point downstream of the pressure reducing valve 4, an ejector 7 in said branch pipe having its suction opening connected to a tank 14 of foam forming liquid, and a controllable valve 10 in the branch pipe 6 leading to the ejector 7 coupled to the controllable valve 9 so that both valves 9 and 10 open simultaneously.
