Abstract

138,339. Krause, W. Dec. 23, 1916, [Convention date]. Crop sprinklers. - A pipe 3 supplied with water under pressure has valved branches 4 adapted to be connected through tubular members 7 to portable sprinkler pipes. Nozzles 14 in members 7 are connected with chambers 15 fitted with valves 17. When any branch is put in action the flow of water is used to extract the water in the pipes last used by means of the nozzle 14 and a pipe 13, the nozzles 14 and connexions 16 being put out of action where necessary by the valves. A readily detachable joint between the sprinkler pipes 5, Fig. 3, is provided by flanges 18, 19, which are forced together by gravity, a bail 11 on one pipe being hung in a notch in an arm 12 carried by the other pipe.
