Abstract

834,402. Masted lift trucks. ELECTROHYDRAULICS Ltd. May 1, 1956 [Feb. 4, 1955], No. 3421/55. Class 78 (3). The inwardly slidable grab arms of a lift truck can be adjusted so that their lower edges are closer together than their upper edges. In the construction illustrated, this is effected by mounting plates 8 (Fig. 1) adjustably on the grab arms 7. Two plates 8 are shown pivoted to upper and lower levers 10, 12 pivoted centrally to each arm 7. The pivot pins 18, 23 (Fig. 4) for the levers 10, 12 fit loosely in brackets 16, 19 on the grab arms 7 so that screws 24 and lock-nuts 25 can be used to adjust the plates 8 about horizontal axes lying roughly in the plates 10. Compression springs between the plates 8 and the lever 10 normally hold the plates 8 against misalignment with the arm 7 about vertical axis. Specification 694,956 is referred to.
