Abstract
758,289. Bedsettees. RICHTER, F. June 25, 1954 [June 27, 1953], No. 18617/54. Class 52(2). A bed settee has a frame 1, a movable carriage 8 forming a bedding receptacle, and three members hinged together forming, in the bed position, a head support 2 pivoted to the frame, a centre support 5 and foot support 6, the latter forming, in the settee position, a seat, the member 5 a backrest while member 2 folded back to back with the back rest 5 is concealed within the frame 1, links 14, 15 connecting members 5 and 6 and links 22, 24 connected to the said members and a plate 13 on carriage 8 guiding the members during movement from one position to another and a latch mechanism releasably latching the members 5, 6 in either position. The latching mechanism includes a latch 25 pivoted at 26 to plate 14 and having two spaced notches A and 38 which co-operate with a pin 17 on member 6 in the settee and bed positions respectively.
