In a fastening for a box, case or the like of the type wherein a lever is pivotally mounted upon an attachment plate and the lever carries a loop engageable with a hook on the other part of the box or case and incorporating a sheet metal attachment plate a looped upwardly to form a bearing a<SP>1</SP> for an axle pin b engaged with side walls of a channel shaped lever c carrying a wire loop d engageable with a hook on the other part of the box or case, one end of the attachment plate a is bent at right angles and adapted to engage a slot c<SP>1</SP> in the lever c, the bent extremity a<SP>2</SP> of the plate a having an aperture a<SP>3</SP> to accommodate a sealing device. The extremities of the loop d are formed with shoulders d<SP>2</SP> to prevent sliding movement of the loop relative to the lever c.
