Abstract

693,189. Lawn mowers. WEBB & CO., Ltd., H. C., and TAYLOR, F. W. Oct. 18, 1951 [Dec. 29, 1950], No. 31578/50. Class 6(ii) The ledger-blade 16 of a lawn-mower is suspended by arms 21 on the side plates 10 and is adjustable bodily, relatively to the cutter cylinder by cams 28. The mower is of the type having a front roller, and rear wheels or a roller, and the ledger blade is :screwed to a casting 17 which is mounted on the arms 21. Each arm has an embossed portion 24 sliding in a slot 23 in the side plate 10, and has a slot 27 in its upper end to receive the cam surface 33. The cams comprise hexagonal nut portions 31 and conical parts 32 which cover the slots 27 in all positions of adjustment. The cams are mounted on the reduced ends 29 of a - cross-shaft 30 which may have nuts 34 on its outer ends to clamp the cams after adjustment. A cut-grass deflector 36 is also secured to the casting 17.
