Abstract

A new dye is made by treating the condensation product of one mol. a a -dichloracedianthrone and two mols. 6-amino-31,41-phthaloylacridone (as described in Specifications 587,006 and 672,908) with an acid condensing agent such as aluminium chloride, chlorsulphonic acid or sulphuric acid. An example uses aluminium chloride in nitrobenzene as condensing agent, followed by oxidation with sodium bichromate. The product dyes or prints cotton or viscose olive-green tints. Specifications 369,765, 410,552 and 453,853 also are referred to.
