664,553. Pneumatic singlestroke apparatus. VERKSTADS AKTIEBOLAGET CALOR, and COLHAG, K. S. April 25,1949. No. 10953/49. Class 8 (ii) Quick exhaust of a cylinder 1 having a piston 2 the working and return strokes of which are effected by compressed air from a line 22 and a spring 3 respectively is effected by a valve comprising a cylindrical housing 12 between the line 22 and a cylinder inlet 8, and having a side outlet 13 controlled by a valve body 14 which is freely slideable in the housing 12 and is normally held by air pressure against packings 17, 18 whilst allowing access of air to the cylinder 1 through an aperture 16 ; the valve body 14, on connecting the line 22 to atmosphere, being displaced by air pressure in the cylinder 1 to uncover the outlet 13 and thereby exhaust the cylinder.
