Abstract
638,381. Inductive control systems. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AKTIEBOLAGET. Aug. 14, 1947, No. 22578. Convention date, Aug. 27, 1946. [Class 38 (iv)] [Also in Group XXXIX] To permit adjustment of the unidirectional magnetic bias in a saturable reactor provided with internal self-magnetization by means of rectifiers 3, 4 cormected in series with one or more of the main windings 1, 2, further windings 9, 10 in series with a regulating resistance 11 and wound on the reactor core are energized by a unidirectional voltage across resistors carrying the main current of the reactor. As shown in Fig. 1, separate resistors 5, 6 in series with the main windings 1, 2 are provided for energizing the windings 9, 10. The resistance of the main windings may, however, be utilized instead of separate resistors, the windings 9, 10 then being connected across the main windings, or tappings thereof. Fig. 3 shows such an arrangement in which the windings 9, 10 are connected across the main windings 1, 2 through the regulator 12 which is so connected as progressively to reduce resistance across the rectifiers 3, 4 as resistance is progressively inserted in circuit with the windings 9, 10. In the three-phase arrangement of Fig. 5, the additional windings 33-38 are energized from tappings on the main windings 21-26, the connections being such that in each limb of the reactor core the magnetization due to' the " additional " winding leads that due to the main winding.
