[Class 75 (iii)] In a frictional igniter having duplicate sets of ignition means, each set comprising a flint pressed against a friction wheel by a coiled spring located in a guide tube which extends into the casing, the pressures of the two coiled springs are simultaneously adjusted by a slidable pressure transmitting member provided upon the igniter. The igniter comprises a main casing a, provided with a single wick f<SP>1</SP>, and flame guard d, the latter having diametrically opposed slots d<SP>1</SP> through which project two friction wheels c each having its own flint c<SP>1</SP> pressed by a spring h housed in a tube g extending through the casing. The two springs h are adjusted by the parallel arms i, i<SP>1</SP> of a U- shaped metal rod the flat cross piece j of which rests on base el of the lower cap member e. The pressure is adjusted by sliding the cap member e upwards. The cap member e and casing a are provided with a'series of ribs and indentations k and l to hold the cap member in the desired position on the main casing.
