Abstract

636.584. Picture &c. mounts. HOARE, R. R. March 10, 1948, No. 7299. [Class 11] A display device, picture, photograph, design, letter-press or the like is formed by mounting the display matter behind a hardened sheet of clear or translucent thermosetting resin and adhesively affixing it thereto. The front sheet may comprise a transparent or translucent sheet, e.g. of paper, impregnated with resin hardened under heat and pressure or a clear resin sheet e.g. cut from a cast solid. The matter to be displayed is stuck with or without a backing sheet face upwards on the back of the clear sheet which may be suitably decorated in positions not occupied by the display matter. In a modification the display matter is mounted on a back sheet and then coated with a clear resin hardened under light pressure against polished glass or metal, or covered by a thin decorated sheet and then mounted behind a front sheet of hard thermosetting resin. A thin aluminium or other heat conducting metallic foil may be placed immediately under the display matter. Specifications 576,459, 603,490 and 629,480 are referred to.
