Abstract
599,749. Sewing-machines. NICHOLLS & WILEMAN, Ltd., COLEY, T. A., and LUCAS, C. Aug. 1, 1945, No. 19729. [Class 112] In a linking-machine a slub in the yarn T displaces a detector 2 to stop the machine before the slub reaches the needle 1. A lever 3 carries the detector at one end and cooperates with a notch in a plunger 6 at the other. Movement of the detector releases the plunger which falls or is sprung so that its lower end lies in the path of a cam plate 7 on the driving wheel 8. The cam slides the wheel axially and disengages pins 11 on the wheel from a clutch plate 10 to disconnect the drive.
