Abstract
595,932. Reversible windows. COMERFORD, M. P. July 10, 1945, No. 17546. [Class 20(iii)] A reversible window has a sash A pivotally mounted in the frame B and rotatable therein from a closed to a reversely closed position, weatherstripping 23 extending continuously round the outer edge of the sash to provide a seal in the reverse and obverse positions of closure, and means for locking the sash in the closed positions. As shown, the fixed frame B has tapered edges 15 to improve the seal. The window is locked in the closed positiorr by the lever 29 entering the U-shaped member 30, and in intermediate positions by the eccentrically pivoted lever 33 engaging recesses in the pivot 21. The weatherstripping on one side engages the inner surface, and on the other side the outer surface, of the frame, and passes through the pivots 21.
