[Class 20(iii)] [Also in Group XXV] In a wicket gate 10 for rolling shutters &c. which is hinged at 16 to a fixed support and has a fixed flange, or stop 12 on one face and a hinged movable stop 18 on the other, which engage opposite sides of the shutter 14 when the door is closed, a handle-operated slide member 22 is mounted in guides on the door and connected to the stop 18 by an articulated linkage including a link arm 27, whereby the thrust of the slide member is transmitted to the stop 18 in a direction transverse to the plane of the shutter. In the form shown, two slide members and corresponding linkage are provided connected to two hinged stops and the guides comprise a bracket 25, and slots 23 in a casing 24, both secured to a metal plate 20 extending the width of the door. The slide members have cranked ends and are moved horizontally by pins 35 acting in vertical slots therein, these pins being fixed to a plate 34 rotated with the door handle 33. In an alternative form, rollers at the ends of a handle-rotated arm engage in slots in slide blocks connected to straight slide members. Each of these members is pivoted to one corner of a triangular rocker plate pivoted at its other free corner to a link arm acting directly on a hinged stop. In both cases the parts of the linkage may be so disposed, (as shown), as to render it irreversible to prevent the stops being prised open from the outside. A keyoperated lock may be provided operating on one of the slide members.
