Abstract
223,108. Evans, W. Feb. 4, 1924. Stays.-A combined casement stay and fastener comprises a rod E hinged at F to a plate D that is mounted to swivel on a plate A secured to the transome T above the window S. The bar E is slotted at 0 and provided with notches R for engagement with a pin N on the upper edge of the window when the window is to be secured in an adjusted angular position about its lower edge. To close the window, the bar E is first lifted off the stud N and rotated about the pivot C into a horizontal position. When the window is closed the pin N is housed in a recess W and a projection J on the plate D locks the window by engagement with a slot in the plate H. The stay is held in the inoperative position by a turnbutton which is engaged with the slot O and is then turned across the bar. The window is arranged to slide in the sash-frame.
