[Classes 99 (i) and 99 (ii)] [Also in Group XVIII] Means for supporting a hose pipe forming part of a liquid-dispensing apparatus comprises a structure on which hose coils 85 are arranged about a central supply pipe 4 to which one end of the hose is connected, the structure being expansible under spring action to hold the coils normally at a predetermined maximum diameter and contractible to increase the length of the dispensing portion of the hose when the latter is pulled. The fuel supply pipe extends through the top of the pump casing 1 and carries swivellingly the hose supporting structure which comprises a cylindrical casting 59, two pairs of diametrically opposed supporting rods 78, a visual flow indicator 72 and a casing 76. The hose coils are arranged between a pair of rollers 82 in each of two yokes 80 slidable on the rods 78 and normally pressed against limit stops 79 by a pair of coiled springs 82<SP>1</SP>. In an alternative form hose coils are carried by four yokes each carried by a single radial rod and guided by a spring-controlled telescopic rod projecting from the cylindrical casting. The swivelling joint, Fig. 7 between the reel and pipe 4 comprises a casting 50, bolted through the casing 1 to the flange 51 of pipe 4, a ball bearing between the casting 50 and a partition 58 in the cylinder 59, a pipe 57 extending through bearings 63, 60 from the partition and packing compressed in cups 56 by spring 54. Liquid rises in a sleeve 64 to actuate vanes 65 before passing to the hose through an outlet (not shown) at the top of cylinder 59. The vanes actuate a visual indicator comprising an inverted split cup 70.
