Abstract
736,052. Valves. MULLER, J. May 20, 1953 [Feb. 13, 1953], No. 14213/53. Class 135. [Also in Groups XXVIII and XXXVII] A fitting 12a, Fig. 8, to which a hose coupling is attached and fixed in the base of a reservoir 97, is extended by a cylindrical cage 98 pierced by axial slots 99 and enclosed by a slide 100 rotatably mounted on a central column 101 and provided with axial slots 102. The slide 100 has a toothed ring 103 engageable with a pinion 104 rotatably mounted on the column 101 and rigid with a lever 105 pressed by a spring 105<SP>1</SP> against the base of a liquid-filled bellows 107 carried on a lateral arm 106 attached to the top of the column, the bellows communicating by a pipe 108 with a bellows 110 located in a skirt 112 and supporting a float 111. Liquid fed through the hose coupling and past the valve 66 enters the reservoir and when the desired level of the liquid has been reached the float 111 is lifted to axially compress the bellows 110, the liquid in the latter being forced through the pipe 108 to expand the bellows 107 and depress the lever 105 thereby rotating the slide 100 and closing the slots 99 in the cage 98. In a modification, the fitting 12a, Fig. 9, is extended by a cap 113 having apertures 114 and enclosed by a slide 115 mounted on a column 116 screwed into the head of the cap, a spring 117 disposed between the slide and the cap tending to lift the slide. A tubular extension 118 of the slide 115 has pivoted thereto one arm of a lever 119 fulcrummed on a spindle carried at the top of a support 120, the other arm of the lever being articulated to a rod 121 connected to a float. The slide 115 is lifted as the level of the liquid in the reservoir falls and to progressively uncover the apertures 114.
