Abstract
549,121. Transferring designs. PEACE & CO., Ltd., H. E., PEACE, H. E., and ROBERTS, W. July 5, 1941. No. 8521. [Class 100 (ii)] Designs are produced on rubber surfaces by means of a transfer prepared by coating a transfer paper with a rubber composition and masking, by printing, those parts of the coating which are not to be transferred to the rubber surface. The rubber composition may be rubber solution loaded with lithaphone or metallic oxide. The rubber surface to receive the transfer may be vulcanised or unvulcanised and, unless recently made so that it still contains active rubber solvent, is treated with a solvent such as white spirit, before the transfer is applied by pressure. The article is subsequently dried by vulcanization or by exposure to the air.
