749,063. Rubber labels. HARVINGALE MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., HARVEY, A. P., and NIGHTINGALE, R. G. Jan. 6, 1954 [March 3, 1953], No. 5924/53. Class 73 A rubber label, with or without a backing layer, which is secured to the rubber surface of an article by vulcanization, has no applied markings on its surface and is of contrasting shade or colour to that of the article and/or to that of the backing layer and is of particular shape which is delineated by the contrasting shade or colour from that of the article or backing layer so as to provide a distinguishing identification. The label may be in the form of a stencil having a backing layer of uncured rubber of contrasting shade or colour which appears through the stencil apertures, the backing layer being vulcanized to the article and spreading into the stencil apertures to provide a flat surface for the label. Vulcanization may be effected under heat and pressure or a rubber adhesive, which causes vulcanization to take place with or without heat, may be used to secure the label to the article.
