543,019. Rubber articles. McKAY, R. F. (Soc. Italiana Pirelli). March 1, 1941. No. 2786. [Class 70] Rubber articles are made with wrinkled surfaces by coating a former with an aqueous rubber dispersion by dipping, spraying, electrophoresis &c. coagulating, and drying the layer under conditions such that no vulcanization occurs, and contacting the dried layer with a rubber solvent, e.g. toluene, petroleum naphtha, carbon tetrachloride, or trichlorethylene. The rubber article may then be vulcanized before or after removal from its former. In an example, a surgical glove is made from a latex mix including zinc oxide, sulphur, and sodium diethyldithiocarbamate, which is deposited on a former, dried, dipped 3 to 10 mins. in trichlorethylene which is evaporated at 60‹ C., and the rubber steamvulcanized at 120‹ C.
