Abstract

535,616. Grease nipple covers. NEWTON, N. B., and NADEN, J. H. Sept. 15, 1939, No. 25877. [Class 125 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXIV] A cover for a grease nipple, lubricator or the like comprises a flexible strip 2 of synthetic rubber or other material unaffected by grease provided at one end with a hole to enable it to be secured beneath the base 9 or on the neck 8 of the nipple and at the other end formed with a cylindrical stud-like part 1 having an internal cavity 3 partly closed by a tapering flange 4 to enable it to be snapped over the bulbous head 7 of the nipple. The part 1 may be provided with a ventilating hole 12 and be ribbed or grooved on its external surface. In a modification a cylindrical sheet metal pressing 13 is provided with inturned tongues 14 to grip the nipple and with claws 15 to secure the pressing to the flexible strip 2.
