Abstract

696,800. Fastenings. FERNTOL PATENTS, Ltd., and FERNBERG, E. B. Nov. 14, 1951, No. 26673/51. Class 44. A fastener for securing a C section metal moulding strip 31, Fig. 8, to a resilient rib 29 comprises a piece of sheet metal bent to U-form, both limbs 21 being bowed outwardly to provide shoulders 25 and carrying prongs 28 to pierce the rib. Outturned flanges 26 on the limbs locate the fastener on the rib and the moulding strip on the fastener. The fastener is formed as shown in Fig. 6 with one of the limbs divergent, the web 20 being reduced on this side to allow it to be bent into place on the rib by means of a tool.
