Abstract

781,200. Clips. F. T. PRODUCTS, Ltd. Jan. 20, 1956 [Feb. 3, 1955], No. 3249/55. Class 44 [Also in Group X] A fastener comprises a single strip of spring metal bent to U-shape so as to have an open mouth constituted by two limbs 14 15 joined by a web 16, a pair of prongs 17, sheared and bent out of one limb 14 so as to be directed inwardly of the U and towards the web, a tongue 20 sheared and bent out of the other limb 15 so as to have its end disposed outside the U approximately parallel with but spaced from the other limb, and a rib 23 formed in either the tongue 20 of the other limb 15 or on each of these members, directed inwardly of these members to constitute a neck therebetween. As shown, a rib 23 is formed in the limb 15 and the tongue 20 between which is secured a weather strip 13. The root of the tongue 20 extends through the web 16 and the fastener and strip are applied to a flange 11 of a metal panel 10.
