[Class 126] A portable spirit stove comprises a fuel container 16 provided with hinged buckles 18 adapted to engage a flange on the bottom of a food container 1<1>, and with a depending tube 19 having an aperture closed by a member 22 subjected to the pressure of a spring 25. A packing ring 24 is inserted between the closure member 22 and a flange 20 on the tube 19. A wick 27 is supported by a hinged plate 28 provided with peripheral openings 29 for the escape of gases and the central opening in the plate 28 is provided with a transverse member having an opening for the passage of a pin 33, Fig. 3, which engages with and is pressed downwardly by the fuel container to open the closure member 22 for the passage of fuel or gases.
