[Class 65 (i)] [Also in Group XI] The lid 2 of a gas or other cooking-stove pivots under the action of a spring 6<1>, anchored at one end to the lid and at the other to the back of the stove and partially enclosed by an arcuate tube 6. An arcuate rod, also attached to the back of the cooker, guides the spring. A notched, spring- loaded finger 9 engages with a tooth 7 on the tube 6 to hold the lid in the open position.
