Abstract

503,636. Endless - belt conveyers. TAYLOR, E. Nov. 26, 1937, No. 32593. [Class 78 (i)] Spillage is removed from the lower run 3a of an endless belt conveyer used in mines by means of a scraper 8 engaging the periphery of the return roller 1. The scraper directs the spillage to inclined shoots 6, 7 extending transversely across the conveyer between the upper and lower runs, the shoots delivering the spillage back on to the 'lower run but nearer one or other edge. The spillage thus deposited is again passed round the roller, scraped off again and repassed through the shoots until finally it is delivered over the edges of the belt.
