[Class 64 (iii)] The plates of a heat-exchanger or pasteurizer are provided with corrugated ribs 2 forming channels the crosssectional area of which alternately increase and diminish. In a modification. a sinuous channel is formed between adjacent plates by ribs 4, Fig. 2, and the channel is subdivided by ribs 14.
